Snowflakes rained down from the sky, settling softly on the ground. The blistering cold winds whipped around the area causing snow to swirl around in the air. The Khajiit had her arms wrapped around herself trying to keep in the warmth, she may have had fur, but it was still freezing outside. Shivers lashed through her body as the dropping temperatures nipped at her nose and ears. Immediately, her ears folded back and her head tucked down low letting the rushing wind pass her by. Her weapons shuffled around as she walk and the sound of her coin purse seemed pitiful. Hopefully, when she made it to this new town, she'd be able to "acquire" more money. Even though she was in the Dark Brotherhood, she didn't mind stealing from time to time. The one thought on her mind was Please get somewhere warm soon. The female Khajiit slowed to stop on the trail and dug out a map of Skyrim. The next town was Riverwood and by the looks of where she was, she wasn't too far off.
The sun was in the sky but was hardly seen from the clouds of this overcast day. Gracie rolled the torn map back up and shoved it deep within her knapsack. Swinging it back over her shoulder, she began on her way again. On either side of the trail was ferns and berries growing throughout the forest. The temptation to pick one almost touched the surface but was soon washed away by the sight of the town. A smile spread over the Khajiit's lips. She was so close to the town. Gracie began to jog her way to the town. The trail began to be free of snow but the air didn't get any warmer. Shivering violently, her teeth began to chatter. After a few solid moments from jogging, her body slowed at the arch way entrance of Riverwood. Her emerald eyes scanned over the wooden frame as her feet trailed her in to the small town. The peoples spirits in the town were high as they bustled about. The town appeared welcoming.
Holding her knapsack strap tightly in her grip, she wasn't sure who was a thief here, or who wasn't. Her eyes shifted back and forth, dragging her into the middle of the town. To her left there was a Blacksmith, but she didn't need to go there, she need somewhere to go that had a decent environment. With a swift glance over before her feet left the ground, she saw the sign said "Shoppe" on it. Hm, not exactly what she was looking for. She walked more up the middle pathway of Riverwood, glancing up large steps, seeing "Tavern" on the sign. A grin burst over her face as her direction was immediately changed to her right. She stepped up onto the wooden platform making her way to the door. Pressing her paw on the door, she grabbed the handle twisting it slowly before walking in the Tavern. Gracie's eyes began to scan around the room. Anything that wasn't nailed down and was valuable was up for grabs.
Letting the door fall shut behind her, the warm air hit her causing a purr to echo from her mouth.
"Oh thank the nine, somewhere warm and with food!" She said happily to herself. After a moment of complete serenity, she drug her weary body across the room. There was two tables to the left of the door, three on the other side of the room against the wall and a rectangular fire pit in the middle of the room. Stopping by the burning coals in the concrete rectangular heater in the middle of the room, her paws rest in the air above it. The warmness felt fresh and made a shiver of pleasure run through her. Gracie's eyes drifted closed for a few moments basking in the heat. She loved it. But, it had to come to an end for her stomach was yelling at her. She moved away from the fire and walked up to the bar, leaning her front half on the counter. Her predatory eyes stalked the dead animals behind the bartender.
Her sharp teeth flashed for a moment and the hunger rolled over her again. She wanted everything they had. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, a smirk spread over her lips.
"What will you have?" The bartender asked casually. Her eyes danced over to the bartender. He was a well built man with a rugged beard, wiping down the counter with an overused rag.
"I'll have two Grilled Chicken breasts, Beef stew, Nord Mead, and Leg of Goat Roast" Her mouth watered slightly at the thought as she awaited eagerly for the price.
"That'll 25 septims please.." With haste, she opened her coin purse and felt sorrow run over her. For a second, her head hung.
"I'm sorry.. I'll just have the Leg of Goat Roast and Nord Mead.. Oh, I need a room for tonight as well.." Stating as she slid over the amount of gold her needed. She may not have been able to indulge herself but at least she had a decent place to sleep tonight. Gracie sat on the stool and put her knapsack between her legs to keep it safe. When the food was set down in front of her along with the mead, a purr rumbled her lips as she bit into the succulent, juicy leg.
